Union Public Service Commission Combined Defense Services Exam 2025:UPSC invites UPSC CDS Exam-1 online applications from the qualified Indian citizens for Combined Defense Services Examination for the year of 2025. There are total 451 vacancies available in this UPSC Combined Defense Services of Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Officers Training Academy for men 125th course and for women 38th Non Technical Course.

• Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala -January 2027-32 Posts (6 for NCC)

• 124th SSC Men SSC Course Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai-UPSC Course April 2027-275 Posts

Age limits for UPSC Combined Defense Services Exam 2025:

(i) For IMA—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 2003 and not later than 1st January 2008 only are eligible.

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 2003 and not later than 1st Jan, 2008 only are eligible.

(iii) For Air Force Academy— 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2027 i.e. born not earlier than 02nd Jan, 2003 and not later than 01st Jan, 2007(Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 yrs. i.e. born not earlier than 02nd Jan, 2001 and not later than 01st Jan, 2007 only are eligible.

(iv) For Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Course for men,) Male candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2^nd Jan, 2002 and not later than 1st Jan 2008 only are eligible.
(v) For Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Course for Women,) Female candidates (married or unmarried) born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 2001 and not later than 1st Jan 2008 only are eligible.

Qualifications for UPSC CDS Recruitment Exam 2025:

(i) For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy— Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University

(ii) For Indian Naval Academy—Degree in Engineering BE/B.TECH from a recognized University/Institution.

iii) For Air Force Academy—Bachelor Degree or Engineering from a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level)

Application/Examination fee for UPSC CDS Recruitment Exam 2025:

Eligible candidates has to pay Rs.200/- towards exam application fee. There is no examination fee for Female/SC/ST candidates. Candidates can pay the fee online or offline.

Selection Procedure for UPSC Combined Defense Services Examination:

Selection for this UPSC CDS Examination will be held in two stages.

1. Online Written Test

2. SSB Interview for Intelligence and Personality Test

Exam Pattern and Syllabus for UPSC Combined Defense Services Examination:

Computer based online written test will be conducted in three papers of total 300 marks for Indian Naval Academy, Indian Military Academy and Air Force Academy. Each paper consists of 100 marks. Each paper will be conducted for 2 hours.

1. English-100 Marks-2 Hours

2. General Knowledge-100 Marks-2 Hours

3. Elementary Mathematics-100 Marks-2 Hours

For Officers Academy Online written test will be conducted for 200 marks. Each paper for 100 marks with 2 hours duration each.

Online Application procedure for UPSC CDS 1 Exam 2025:

Eligible candidates have to register online at upsconline.nic.in website for OTPR. 

Then login to the UPSC website of upsconline.nic.in using OTPR ID and Password and select the exam and complete the required data in given and upload the signature and Photo images. And pay the amount online using credit or debit card. If you are paying amount offline then generate the SBI challan and pay the amount in nearest SBI bank. Finally submit the application form online and take a printout for future reference.
