    UPSC CIVIL SERVICES EXAM 2024 NOTIFICATION

    UPSC Civil Service Jobs Recruitment Exam 2024: The Union Public Service Commission released notification for Civil Services Examination for the year of 2024. Those who are preparing for 2021 Civil Service Examination may start their preparation from now itself. Civil Services Examination is national wide competitive examination which is conducted by UPSC every year for various Civil Services of Government of India such as Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Forest Service (IFS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS). The civil Service examination is one of the toughest exams in India with a pass percentage of 0.1% to 0.3%. For Indian Administrative Service chances are very low to 0.03%. Civil Services Examination will be conducted in three phases. The first stage is the preliminary examination consists of two objective type papers. One is social studies and another one is an aptitude test. Second stage is mains examination, those who are qualified in prelims they are eligible for Mains examination. Mains examination consists of nine papers of theory type. A third stage is the personal interview/personality test. To complete all the process for Civil Services Examination it will take nearly one year.

    UPSC Civil Services Examination Process:

    The Civil Service tests are conducted in ancient days by our old Indian Emperors era in the Mauryan Empire and Mughal Empire. Civil Service Examination is considered as most difficult competitive exam in India. More than a million aspirants are applying for this exam every year. Half million students are appearing for the exam. It is very challenging exam, it has three stages to clear. The aspirant must having depth knowledge, technical skills, rational thinking, drafting skills, creativity, language proficiency, and a can do attitude.

    Stage 1: Preliminary Examination: This is qualifying test having two papers. The exam will be conducted every year in May/June. Notification is published in 14-02-2024. And the results will come in mid May/June every year.
     
    Stage 2: Mains Examination: This is the main exam who is qualified in prelims they only eligible to write mains exam. The mains exam will held in December every year. Results are available in the second week of March.
     
    Stage 3: Personality Test (Interview):
    Based on mains result cut off marks aspirant will be called for an interview. It will held in April/May. And the final results usually end of the May every year. After successful completion candidate will be called for training on the first Monday of September every year.
     
     

    UPSC Civil Service Exam 2021 Eligibility:

    Nationality:
    1.       For the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must have born in India.
    2.       For the Indian Revenue Service
    a)       A citizen of India
    b)       A person who belongs Indian origin and who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Srilanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zaire, Ethiopia,  Zambia, Malawi or Vietnams with the purpose of permanently staying in India
     
    Education Qualification:
    All candidates must have a recognized university degree through central, state, deemed, Correspondence education or distance or a qualification which is recognized by the government of India. And also those who are passed final year recently they also eligible, but they have to submit marks statement proofs of their eligibility before main examination, failing will not be allowed to attend the exam. Details given below
    Candidates who have cleared the final exam of the MBBS degree, but not complete internship, Final year passed CA, ICSI and ICWAI students, degree from a private university and a degree from a foreign university recognized by Association of Indian Universities.
    Age: Minimum 23 years and upper age limit are 32 years of general candidates. For OBC upper age limit is 35 years, for SC/ST upper age limit is 37 years.
     
    Number of Attempts:
    The number of attempts for Civil Service Examination is limited. General, OBC under the creamy layer 4 attempts. OBC non creamy layer candidates have 7 attempts and for SC/ST no limitation.
    1.     Single paper attempt in prelims shall be considered to be an attempt at the Examination.
    2.     If a candidate actually appears in any one paper in the Prelims Exam, he/she shall be deemed to have made an attempt at the Examination.
    3.     Even though the ineligibility/cancellation of candidature, the fact of appearance of the candidate at the examination will count as an attempt.
     

     Civil Service Examination Vacancies and Selection:

    Every year number of vacancies are varying while comparing to the previous year. Number of candidates for the mains exam will be selected 10 or 11 times more than vacancies. Number of candidates called for interview are 2 times more than available vacancies. To secure a place in the highly required Indian Administrative service must get a rank under 70, this is having success rates of 0.025 percent.

    Under Forest Services is 150 Posts

     

    UPSC Civil Service Preliminary Exam Pattern:

    From 2011 onwards civil service prelims examination has been changed. It is called as CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test). CSAT consists of two papers. CSAT is multiple choice objective type exam.
    1. General Studies Paper-1 consist of 2 hours for 200 marks
    2. General Studies Paper-2 consist of 2 hours for 200 marks        
     

    UPSC Syllabus for Civil Service Preliminary Examination:

    UPSC Civil /Forest Service General Studies Paper-1 Syllabus:

    Must have knowledge of current affairs, history of India and national movement, Indian and world geography, Indian policy and governance, financial and social development, ecology, biodiversity, climate change and general science. A minimum mark to qualify is 30. Paper 1 marks will be considered for total gradation.

    UPSC Civil/ Forest Service General Studies Paper-2 Syllabus:

    Skills in comprehension, interpersonal, communication, logical reasoning, Mental and analytical ability, decision making, problem solving, basic number series, data interpretation and English language. Minimum qualifying marks for this exam is 70 marks. This paper will not be considered for final interview gradation.

    UPSC Civil Service Mains Examination Syllabus:

    Mains examination consists of a written examination and interview.
    Examination:  
    There are nine papers for Civil Service Mains Examination. Two papers for qualifying and seven papers for ranking in nature. One mark to sixty mark questions with twenty to six hundred words range will be given. Those who are qualified all papers based on rank will be called for a personality test at the commission’s discretion. English language and Indian language papers are qualifying papers.

    UPSC Civil Service Examination Interview

    Officially called as a personality test.
    The interview is not only on the academic track. Basically, it is to identify the candidate’s mental ability, skills of communication, dealing the topic, candidate’s interests, current affairs, way of interaction, knowledge about public service, to evaluate the medical caliber of candidate. The main purpose of an interview is not only cross-examination and to know the candidate’s ability for social concerns and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.
    Based on marks in an interview and rank in mains examination final selection list will be prepared by UPSC.
