The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an independent agency which is introduced for implementing world class training and selection to personnel for various client organizations. 
IBPS provides its services to all public sector banks, Associates banks of SBI, RBI, NABARD,
SIDBI, few Co-Operation banks, LIC  and in addition to that Regional Rural Banks, many Public Sector Understanding financial institutions. It is an organization having capability of accepts the exam applications from the candidates at their  website, and exams will be conducted through online exam for lakhs of students frequently.

To enhance human resource development through personnel assessment IBPS has introduced a Common Written Exam (CWE) through Common Recruitment Process(CRP) for the officers and  clerks in Indian banks which are joined hands with IBPS.

IBPS governing body consists of nominees from Reserve bankof India, Ministry of Finance government of India, National Institute of Banking Management and representative of public sector banks.

Recruitment through IBPS:


IBPS recruits personnel for banking in 3 or 4 tier phase. First they will conduct written test. Those who are qualified written exam they will be called for personnel interview which is conducted by IBPS itself. And the final phase is placement.
But written test for Probationary Officers/Management Trainees, Clerks is 2 parts. First they will conduct a preliminary exam to filter the candidates very early. For this syllabus will be very less and basics stuff only. Those who are qualified they will be eligible for the main's exam.

 IBPS CWE Probationary officer/Management Trainee:

It is 4 tier procedure. First they will conduct the Preliminary exam. Qualifiers in prelims exam will write the mains exam followed by Interview and final allotment.

IBPS CWE Clerks:

It is also 4 tier procedure same as PO's/Management trainees.

IBPS CWE Specialist officer:

This is special recruitment for IT officers, Managers, Asst Managers, Marketing, Engineering and LAW officers etc. It consists of online exam followed by interview and final allotment.

IBPS CWE RRB Officers and Assistants:

Recruitment for RRB Officer and Office Assistants for Regional Rural Banks governed by NABARD. For RRB there is a main exam with 200 marks followed by andinterview which is conducted by IBPS itself not participating organization or Nodal banks.

IBPS Eligibility:

From 2014 IBPS has changed eligibility criteria for all the posts. Those who having degree from recognized university they are eligible to write IBPS exam. In addition to that computer knowledge is mandatory for everyone except specials officer posts.
For specialist officer they must have their specialization certificate.
  

IBPS Common Written Exam (CWE):

IBPS will conduct Common Written Exam on every year for the post of Probationary Officers, Management Trainees, Clerks, Specialist officers, RRB officer and Officer Assistants.
For Specialist officers, RRB officers and Office Assistants presently conducting one exam for 200 marks only.
Probationary officers, Management Trainees and for Clerks IBPS conducting 2 tier exam.
Tier 1 exam will be consist o f100 marks with basic concepts. Those who have qualified tier 1 they will be eligible for the tier 2 main exam.
The exams will be conducted in online only there is no offline exam for IBPS.

IBPS Exam Syllabus:


IBPS exam syllabus may consist of All types of Reasoning Methods, Quantitative Aptitude, English Knowledge, General Awareness/Current Affairs, Computer Knowledge and Professional Knowledge.

IBPS Interview Procedure:


Those who are qualified for Common Written Exam will be called for interview by IBPS itself. After completion of interview IBPS will prepare merit list on basis of written test and Interview in a 80:20 ratio. 80% taken from written test and 20% from Interview. Based on this merit list banks will recruit them directly in available positions.
In interview interviewer will examine your basic skills, basic knowledge about banking, current affairs,
Indian politics, Finance position in India, Indian History, Sports, Awards, Agriculture etc.

IBPS Final Allotment:

After completion exam and interview phases IBPS will prepare list on rank basis for each and every state. And IBPS will provide a cut-off mark.
Based on this and reservation category banks will recruit the candidates directly .
